British Invasion Theme, Top 10 perform in X Factor USA 2013 ( Video )

We are down to top 10 in the X Factor USA 2013. This week's theme is British Music Invasion. There will be a double elimination again tomorrow. It seems, with dipping ratings, they are moving faster to end the competiton.

We had a suprising farewell to Sweet Suspense and Rachel Potter last week. Tonight, we saw some interesting song choices. We heard two songs from Elton John, one from the Beatles and Coldplay. Of course it would not be complete without a track from One Direction who will be performing tomorrow.

As usual, I am amused by the judges's bickering. I was laughing hard when Simon criticized Paulina's ideas in Josh Levi's performance. He told Rubio "You must have been drunk when you came up with that concept. Then she naively responded "I don't drink" to which Simon said "Then you should start." Then later Paulina concluded " I don't care what Simons says."

Let's get down to business. Le me present the acts from the best to my least favorite.

Lillie McCloud - Her version of Kate Bush's This Woman's Work is touching. She reminds me of Michael Lynche's moving version in American Idol season 9. Maxwell's version is still the best though.

Alex & Sierra - They have the most original act tonight. Their version of One Direction's Best Song Ever is very unique. I'd have to agree with Demi that she'll download on iTunes their performance.

Khaya Cohen - We have heard so many times Let it Be being sung. Her version is as usual like that of Amy Winehouse. I feel there were moments she sounded like screaming but overall it was a compelling rendition.

Ellona Santiago - She sang Burn by Ellie Goulding. As suggested by Simon, she gave more attention to her vocal ability. Again, she delivered well and still made some great moves.

Josh Levi - Sweet Dreams Are Made of This. He's the one to beat. Demi compared him to Chris Brown.

Carlito Olivero The whole concept was genius.  It was a great performance.  I'm impressed.

Rion Paige - Your Song by Elton John. They all praised how she put emotion in the song. I find it a little bit boring.

Tim Olstad - Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word by Elton John. For the first time, he played the piano. Demi and Kelly find him sexy in the performance. He indeed sounded better than previous weeks.

Jeff Gutt - It is apparent that he pushed himself harder to give justice to the classic Bohemian Rhapsody. This is certainly his best performance so far. But I have heard better versions. Take for instance Adam Lambert.

Restless Road - Their version of Coldplay's  Fix You is just weak. The harmony was off. As weeks go by the are just fading.

Do you agree with Simon's prediction of who might be going home : Tim, Carlito, Ella and Lillie ? Who are you rooting for? Who deserves to win the $5 million contract grand prize?

See you tomorrow for the results show and One Direction's performance of their new single.
