The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 4, Rick Uses 3 Questions on Carol

The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 4 entitled Indifference is building up the the plot of the whole season. From then onward  things will change. Events in this episode will determine the outcome. I must warn you of spoiler alert ahead.
My heart goes for Carol. She has to suffer the consequence. But before we discuss further, here's the summary of what happened in Episode 3 and transpired in Episode 4.

We left off with  the unknown virus ( they just call flu ) continue to spread.  Daryl and some of the group set out on a mission to find medicines for those infected. Carol confessed to Rick that she was the one responsible of burning Karen and David. Tyrese is furious.

Poignant Opening. Lizzie and Carol talks about how people have changed because of their circumstances. People become worse when they turn into zombie. And Carol has changed which is an introduction to her explanation later why she killed the two. In between scenes, Rick is imagining how Carol executed the burning.

Mission Time.Rick takes Carol on a trip to find supplies and medicines ( that's what we thought ). Then they entered  a house and met two survivors, a couple named Sam and Ana. After Carol tend to  Sam's wounds, the two request to join them at the prison, despite the viral outbreak. Rick decides to let them join after they passed the 3 questions, then tell them to stay put until Carol and he finished the rounds. When the two offer to help gather supplies, Rick agreed after Carol convinced him. Rick gives them both guns as well as his watch to know what time to meet later.

Meanwhile, as Daryl, Michone, Tyreese and Bob continue in their journey to find the medicines in a Veterinary School. Since they lost their car in the previous episode, they first went looking for a new car and stumble upon an auto shop. Tyreese forcefully cuts the wires blocking the door and walkers attack them. Tyreese seemed to let himself be overtaken by a walker, but he is saved by Daryl and Bob. Tyrese and Michone discusses about each other's anger. Tyrese is angry that to the person who burned Karen and Michone has not found the governor yet.

They get the car working and head off to the school. Bob tells Daryl about his alcoholism and his fault behind Zach's earlier death in the store. At the school, Bob is almost killed trying to protect his bag which contains only alcohol  he found and no medical supplies. Daryl almost beats Bob when Tyrese told him to stop and just let him because he made his choice. So he just simply threatens him.

The Big Confrontation. Carol and Rick find Ana's body being eaten by walkers. Sam never shows back up. In an earlier talk, Carol tells that killing the two was the right thing to do. It may not be humane but its the only way for them to live. She justified it by telling that there is no difference when Rick had to kill his best friend.

When preparing to leave, Rick tells Carol that she cannot come back to the prison because Tyreese will kill her, others will not agree with her decision and she might kill others who were infected too. Furthermore, she made the decision by herself  and she did not have the right to do so. Rick helps her pack some supplies and sends Carol off on her own. Before leaving, Carol gave the watch to him given by her husband for their first anniversary.

Comments and Analysis. This episode is one of those mellow moments. Others may find it boring but I'm so engaged in the dialogues. I think the events in this episode will be crucial in what will happen next. Carol leaving, how will the group take it. Will it divide them? How will Daryl take Ricks's decision. I don't blame Carol for decision, I think she made the right call.

In the next episode, I expect Daryl would go after Carol, his dear love ( at least that's what I thought ). I would also expect more confrontation. I see new characters being introduced.
